Dale's brand new custom-built surf lodge is right on the beach. The four bedrooms come with A/C and their own bath with hot and cold running water. There is satellite internet access and skype in the great room of the surf lodge. Bring your laptop! Boat and captain stand at the ready to take you surfing to any of the breaks — five to forty five minutes away. In Hidden Bay (you’ll learn the local name when you get here) I’ve tried to preserve the ambiance of this Nicaraguan fishing village. I have limited the foreign staff to myself and maybe one other. My captains don’t surf so you have one less guy competing with you for waves. Part of the mystery of new surf spots is lost when you’re led around by a guide. I try to keep the impact low and the idea of a full service gringo filled compound defeats the purpose of surf travel in my opinioin. I let my clients eat in the local restaurants as well as prepare food in the lodge. This gives you a chance to interact with the locals and honestly the whole paying for the meal is one of the most meaningful interactions of a surf trip to a foreign country. You are injecting your money directly into the local economy. At my lodge in Hidden Bay you will eat local cuisine in local restaurants. There might be dogs and children on the floor but the fish is fresh and the smiles genuine. We also offer food out of the Surf Lodge.
Great Room:

All 4 bedrooms lead to the Great Room which has it's own bathroom as well.
Head:

Each bedroom has private shower and toilet. No pipes hang'n out of walls here for your shower. Big shower heads with a real hot water heater (not the eletric, shocking, shower head kind for those who have been to central america before) in each bathroom.
Bedrooms:

Each room comes with 2 single beds, lock box, locking drawers, closet and A/C. Two of the rooms have doors that open up to the back porch which is right on the beach.
Galley:

We do smoothies, granola, yogurt, fruit in the early mornings and full breakfast when you get back or for late mornings.
Usual breakfast is omelets, big as your face banana pancakes, texas style breakfast tacos, just depends on what we have that day.
Lunch is usually something like: catch of the day fish tacos mex style / owen burgers / sandwiches with some side or sushi.
Dinner can range from beer butt chicken, pizza, catch of the day fish, sushi, pho soup, Fettucini Alfredo with a ton of Lobster tails prepared in olive oil infused with garlic and red pepper,
Mozzarella Stuffed Cannelloni cover with our pizza sauce
Lobster & Fish with 3 sides of your choice
Creamy Jalapeno Chicken with a huge salad
Lobster Cheviche and Grilled Chicken with salad and french fries ya never know for dinner. We can gladly accommodate our vegetarian friends

Customer quotes:
"I wasn't prepared for how informal the vibe was but once I got into the groove it was refreshingly wonderful"
"For me the real difference is being able to surf anytime I want anywhere I want, no waiting or drive time."
Tomquilo and DD staff,
We want to thank you for an amazing and soulful experience at Hidden Bay Lodge last week. We were extremely taken care of from arrival to departure: Adelante Marvin service to and from airport, Dale Dagger introduction to Gigante village, surf boat captain Uvelio taking us wherever we wanted to carve day and night, double bed accommodation for coziness and always a clean casa thanks to Darlene, Rena rolls from fresh yellowfin tuna, special floras for anniversary celebration, Texas Tomquilo delicious food creations, Joanna "Frankenstina" fun, Tony and Vicki perro love ("outside Vicki"), beach futbol with locals at low tide, Tony Roberts' secret behind-the-scene photos that made us look like we rip, mellow hammock sunsets, offshore breezes, and finally livin' on Tona time all the time. The best part of the vacation was feeling that it lasted forever...time really slows down when you aren't overthinking about to-do lists and the only decision to make is where to surf. Even though we had to come back to the "rat race", we will do our best to channel the simplicity and mellowness that we experienced during that wonderful week at Hidden Bay.
Thanks again for making our trip so memorable. Please give Joanna muchos brazos for us!

The Boats, Dale has built boats just for surf to run you around in. We try to break big groups up into 2 boats even if were going to the same place.
Michelle is our center console typical 26' panga equiped with a 115hp Suzuki she is our speedy, nimble boat for short runs or small groups.

Masayita is our flagship and she is ready to surf or fish and perfect for those long runs. Masayita is a double wide 32' super panga equiped with the Suzuki 115hp. Often we'll leave the lodge early in the morning and return at sunset. We have plenty of room on her for boards, food, drinks and fishing equipment!

Dale's outrigger is also avaiable for those of you who like to take a ride on something a little different.
