WEEK of September 1, 2011

September 1, 2011 -
They say it's the biggest swell in ten years. Dale says he hasn't seen anything like it ever in Nicaragua. There we were... sitting, waiting, wishing there was something we could ride. We knew that everywhere would be shut down, but the guys still wanted to check Colorado. Dale scoffed at us and said we had two choices... either take the boat and go watch ballsy show-offs lose a limb at the Outer Reef, or surf the left point break right here in Gigante's bay that only breaks on a monster swell. The name "Trade Secrets", coined by some limp wristed metrosexual at the south end of the beach, sounds more like a JC Penney cologne than an actual kick- in- the-ass fun wave that it is. Regardless, our guys dove right in to taste it's fruits on this peculiar and once in a lifetime kind of day.
