WEEK of November 1, 2011

November 1, 2011 -
Apparently, October and November aint so small anymore. That's what we all agreed upon after watching people get triple overhead barrels this last week and challenging our guests to ride the biggest waves of their lives. Seven time repeat offender, Jeff, joined the crew again and newcomer Patch from Oz got out there and faced their fears. We also had the pleasant presence of our first Honeymooners, Emily and Chuck, who so honored our humble little lodge with their desire to spend something as important as a honeymoon here... with us ridiculous people. They also had the pleasure of spending an overtoxicated over the top halloween with us in a place where you can't just run to Wal-mart to buy your costume and the crazy American crew got quite creative.

A surprise all night rain left the river that crosses the road out of town, too full to pass in a car.
The surf guides had to hump Patch's gear across the river so he could make his flight back to Oz.

A little flashback to August 6, 2011 -
If you're not surfed out and craving the cold comforts of your familiar home where you can wear a sweatshirt and let your overbaked sunkissed skin mellow out and ice your windmilled shoulders when you leave here.. then we haven't done our job. That's exactly how our san fran group left us after a ten day non-stop surf your arms off vacation. We always have respect for our bay area surfers for the pain that they endure on a daily basis to warm up their bodies, shimmy into their 5ml wetsuit, hoodie and booties and plunge themselves into the freezing ass cold, shark laden waters under those famous gusty San Francisco foggy days and still keep a love of surfing. Me personally, if it aint 100 degrees, sunny and warm water, the surf can wait another day. NOTthese guys.... true surf addicts who may have, for the first time, quenced their surfing desire and left Nicaragua with a morsel of content and maybe even consider takin 'er easy for a little bit. At least until they got off the plane...
