Tony Roberts sent me a dozen classic empty waves from the archives. This is one of my favorites.
I know this barrel inside and out as it has been spinning though on a regular basis for the decade
I've been surfing the beach break at Rio Colorado.

We have been having as especially bad stretch of weather here in Nicaragua. Our friends,
the offshores, have abandoned us and we are stuck with afternoon onshores like everyone else in
the surfing world. There have been several stretches of onshore winds and the local fishermen long
accustomed to offshore and calm seas have had some adventures. This shot is from one of these
days.The boat in the background flipped and everyone pitched in to save the day.

This is the times when our local fishermen truly appreciate the big gringos next door.
The fisherman is the guy who's ponga flipped and Chang, our client, was instrumental
in righting it.

Here's a rare shot of a glassy day during June. Kassidy and the boys went to one of our spots
in the North for a long session and Kass got in the water with her new housing, trusting they
would return for her. I myself would never trust them to come back for me.

Rainy, low light, but great surf. Guys reported the two best sessions of the trip and some of the
guys' best sessions of their lives. I truly love surfers from Florida. There was nobody else out
and this wave peels for yards and yards.

Yeah, I Photo-shopped this one pretty hard. I want to get across how much fun can be had on
the less than perfect days. We work just as hard when it's rainy.

Here's a nice shot of India setting up the long wall on the inside and also setting up for a duck
dive shot. We like to keep the bootyshot police happy by running one photo of a woman
surfing for every bootyshot we run.

Thank you India for developing that bionic butt and for the year of toil on Dagger's Farm.

While on the subject of nice things…. one of the good things to come out of the financial crisis
is that we have room! This time last season we were juggling fit people in, not so much this season.
The Lodge has room and so does the line-up. Come on down.
